Charles Barkley weighed in Wednesday on a recent Twitter statement by LeBron James. Barkley, a TNT analyst and former NBA All-Star, said he hopes James remembers Barkley’s critical comments and called a couple of James’ more significant actions this summer “punk” moves.

“I heard about LeBron’s little tweet today that he’s remembering everybody who said anything bad about him,” Barkley said Thursday on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth. “And he said ‘everybody.’ Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that (list).

“I thought that his little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should’ve stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade’s team was very disappointing to me.”

LeBron James was great for the Miami Heat but lousy for the staff hired to sell the team’s season tickets. With no seats left to fill, the sales executives lost their jobs Friday.

The Miami Heat easily sold out its season tickets after LeBron James announced he was joining the team. That turned out to be bad news for the ticket-sales staff, which the Heat fired Friday.

Now that the supply for [season tickets] has been exhausted we no longer require a season ticket sales team,” the Heat said in a brief statement Friday afternoon.

A team spokeswoman, Lorrie-Ann Diaz, declined to comment or answer questions about the firings, which one staffer said cost roughly 30 people their jobs.

MIAMI — LeBron James and Chris Bosh are now members of the Miami Heat and both came at a cut rate.

The Heat’s two newest superstars signed matching six-year, $110.1 million contracts, sources told ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher. Dwyane Wade took an even bigger discount to stay in Miami, signing for six years and $107.5 million, according to the sources.

Sources told ESPN.com’s Chad Ford that James and Bosh are scheduled to make $14.5 million and Wade $14 million in 2010-11.

Each player took $15 million less over the life of the contract to sign with Miami, but the deals came with a caveat.

All three contracts, sources told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, have an early termination option after the fourth season that would allow LeBron, Bosh and Wade to return to free agency in the summer of 2014. Each player also possesses a player option entering the final season of the contract (2015-16).

Bosh and James’ deals were completed through sign-and-trades, making all three eligible for 10.5 percent raises each year.

The Heat sent two future first-round and two second-round picks to the Cavaliers for James, while packaging two first-round picks to the Raptors for Bosh.

Sources told ESPN that Toronto reacquired its first-round selection in 2011, which Miami had from a 2009 trade that sent Shawn Marion to the Raptors, and added the Heat’s own first rounder in 2011.

Pat Riley had to make up ground coming down the homestretch, but the Miami Heat president has secured his triple crown.

LeBron James is coming to South Florida, to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on a team that is poised to jump from NBA also-ran to immediate championship contender.

In front of the national glare of ESPN’s cameras, James completed Thursday what Wade and Bosh started Wednesday, a three-pronged partnership of All-Stars and Olympic teammates that could rival anything since the league has offered since Magic, Kareem and Worthy with the Lakers, and Bird, McHale and Parish with the Celtics.

The commitment of the three was so strong that all agreed to commit to the shared experience without being assured that they would receive their maximum allowable starting salary of $16.6 million for 2010-11.

Instead, Riley and his management staff worked through the day Thursday trying make the numbers work, while also maximizing the composition of a roster that could have as many as 11 players earning the NBA minimum salary of roughly $1 million next season.

OLY-2008-BASKETBALL-ARG-USA

While the world awaits LeBron James’ big decision Thursday night in prime time, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh announced today they will both play for the Heat.

“I’m joining Mr. Wade in Miami,” said Bosh, who announced his decision with Wade, also on ESPN. Neither deal can be officially announced until Thursday.

When asked about James possibly going to Miami, Wade said they would love to have the King in South Florida, but it’s a decision he has to make.

In order for the three to play together in Miami, they would all have to agree to take less than max money, and it appears as if Bosh has done that, instead of signing a max deal with the Raptors and working out a sign-and-trade with Miami.

Given the chance to make one last pitch to LeBron during the interview, Bosh said: “Nah, I’m going to let him do his thing.”
